The internet scam is one of the simplest and most successful means of scamming consumers there is. Who doesn’t love to promise of a huge windfall; sometimes as much as $5 million? To most, these are obviously scams. But to many, and often times the elderly, these “get rich quick” scams seem to be ways to leave a legacy to their families. All they receive in return is a future filled with red tape, police reports, and irreparable damage to their credit and their good name.
