As a business professional, the popular bestseller “The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People” has been a standard on the reading list. Now, news that the man behind the book has passed away. Steven Covey died Monday from complications stemming from a bicycle accident in April. He was 79.
Covey’s book, originally published in 1989, has sold more that 25 million copies worldwide. It has been named one of the most influential management books by Time and Forbes magazines. The audio book is the best-selling nonfiction audio in history as well. The eponymous founder of the Covey Leadership Center (which would later become FranklinCovey Co.) penned other best-sellers including “First Things First,” “Principle-Centered Leadership,” and “The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness.”
