Colorado Public Radio’s Ryan Warner winner of Colorado Associated Press award

Our heartiest congratulations to Ryan Warner, host of “Colorado Matters” on Colorado Public Radio, for his award in the 2011 Colorado Associated Press Broadcasters Association Contest. His piece entitled “Here’s What Happened – ‘Frostbitten’” took top prize in the category of feature reporting from the association. The story is of a young woman, her husband, father-in-law and dog, who got lost while hiking and were caught in a sudden spring storm. “Here’s What Happened” is a weekly storytelling series where listeners share their own unforgettable stories.

“Colorado is home to many outstanding journalists, so it’s an incredible honor to have our news team recognized for their hard work,” said CPR News Director Kelley Griffin. “It’s always gratifying to realize we’re fulfilling our mission of providing informative and entertaining news that matters to Coloradans.”
